Hey, I’m
Liliya Spencer
Design Lead · Singapore
I design the products people can’t opt out of - an insurance claim, an airport terminal, the app your office building runs on. More than a decade making software people are obliged to use into something they’d choose.
- Award winner SBR Technology Excellence, 2023
- Singapore PR No visa to arrange
- BSc in AI & Data Analysis

The work I’m least likely to be asked about
For several years I designed and taught studio classes for students with special needs at Genesis School and Mountbatten Vocational Centre - building the curriculum, adapting it for very different ways of learning, and standing at the front of the room.
It taught me more about interface design than any conference has. When you cannot rely on a shared vocabulary, on reading speed, or on a second attempt, you find out quickly which parts of a design were ever really doing the work.
Things I do anyway
I host Eagle or Tails, a podcast I make under Cleventh, my own practice. Cleventh is a social media and marketing consultancy - deliberately not a design studio, and not competing for the work I am looking for.
I mention it because I would rather be hired by people who already know. Making a podcast is where a good deal of my interviewing, editing and writing practice comes from, and coaching and mentoring are things I will keep doing wherever I work.
Tell me what you’re building.
I’m open to a role where design owns something: the research behind it, the system underneath it, and the people doing the work. Singapore-based and a permanent resident here.
